Coached by their swim and track coach, and SBR Ambassador, Helene Roth, 8 high school students raced their first ever duathlon. The Mother's Day Prospect Park Duathlon (3.1 mile run - 14 mile bike - 3.1 mile run) was the culminating event of the club's inaugural year. All of the students rode donated bikes, wore donated helmets, and of course sported their donated SBR uniforms!! Two students raced the entire race themselves, and the other 6 worked as two-person relay teams. The athletes did AMAZING!!! Dashan Axson and Jennifer Buckley, who raced individually, not only completed the race, but took 2nd (male) and 1st (female) in their age group (0-19). And the relay teams placed 2nd, 3rd and 4th. The students' excitement for the sport is evident - they are very proud of what they accomplished and they are looking forward to their first triathlon - at one of the upcoming SBR Sprint Series races at Harriman State Park. Keep an eye out for this next generation of triathletes. Online registration for the June 9th race is now closed. Still want to race? We are now offering race day registration. The fee is $110 cash only. You must arrive at the park between 6:30am and 7:30am race morning. Please make sure you have a government issued photo id and your usat card. Event sanctioning and insurance compliance require every participant of a USA Triathlon sanctioned event to be a member of USA Triathlon. If you are not a member of USA Triathlon you will be required to purchase a one day license for $10 (cash only) at registration. If you are a USAT member you must present your USAT membership card in order to participate. If you cannot present your card, then a one-day license must be purchased. The run starts promptly at 7:30pm. Meet SBR Club members and other NY athletes. Get training and race tips and have fun after work in New York's scenic Central Park. Leave your belongings at the store for safe keeping. Often we mix things up during the runs with fartleks, hill repeats or specific interval workouts.     TRADE UP   You've been eyeing the new 2007 Cervélo bikes, like the R3, R3-SL, Soloist Carbon or P3 Carbon, but your studio apartment only has room for one of these beauties or your significant other only permits one fancy bike per person. The fair and objective appraisal process includes examining the current condition of the frame and model year it was made. SBR does not offer cash for your used Cervélo. If you’re looking for a pre owned Cervélo, SBR thoroughly inspects and reconditions every bike that comes into our bike shop in form of a 142 point inspection. Generally, the bikes we receive come from cycling enthusiasts who have taken great pains to keep their bikes in top shape. However, normal wear dictates we refurbish the bikes to as close to showroom quality as possible, enabling us to deliver a superior bike to you at a substantial savings. This includes new tires, cables and any other part we deem needs to be replaced. This is a great way for our customers to purchase these refurbished bikes at a very low cost. These items ship from our distribution warehouse, or are available for purchase or pick up within our retail store in New York City. Because we have a limited quantity of refurbished or demo models, these products are being sold strictly on a first come, first served basis.
