Science of Speed Event
at SBR.
March
3, 2005
Sponsored by RacerMate, PowerCranks,
Compex, Endless Pools and Colorado
Altitude Training, the 2005
Science of Speed seminars will
be held in six key U.S. sports
markets with a leading local
retailer hosting each event.
S.O.S. seminars bring recognized
experts in the fields of nutrition,
conditioning, training, racing
and equipment together to share
their knowledge with an enthusiastic
and committed audience of competitors
of all abilities. Previous presenters
have included Ironman winners,
world-class coaches, nutritionists,
and more.
The interactive nature of the
S.O.S. seminars encourages lively,
productive discussions and demonstrations
and provides participants with
a strong sense of connection
with the panelists. By establishing
this personal atmosphere, Science
of Speed seminars yields lasting
"take away" value, making it
a memorable event for even the
most experienced competitor.
After each seminar attendees
are able to meet the S.O.S.
panelists individually to learn
more about the topics that interest
them most. This also presents
an opportunity for attendees
to try new equipment and nutritional
products, explore new book titles
and learn more about coaching
services and training systems.
Past S.O.S. comments reported
that the seminars were "worth
the plane flight to Kona" and
"improved my PR at Kona by an
hour."
Speakers at the New York event
include top Ironman finisher
Cam Widoff, elite swim coach
Steve Tarpinian, world famous
nutritionist and author Monique
Ryan, and well-known endurance
exercise physiologist Allen
Lim.
Following its mission to make
triathlon as accessible as possible
Ultimate Triathlon created a
rental service through which
athletes can test out race wheels
and wetsuits before they buy
them, or rent them for their
race either online, in the New
York store, or on the day of
their event at the race's expo.
