SBR Multisports, the Manhattan triathlon company, is taking on the world record challenge of completing the most performed continuous bicycle fits between April 7th and April 9th. Receiving a proper bicycle fit is essential to speed, energy output and comfort. All revenue from this event will be donated to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, an organization that focuses its resources on illnesses and disease that are service-connected and are unique to the military.
(PRWEB) March 26, 2006 -- With the new race season quickly approaching it is time to get fit, a bike fit, that is. On a daily basis, Christophe Vandaele, owner of SBR Multisports meets athletes who never received a proper fit when purchasing their bike at their local bike shop. SBR Multisports, the New York City triathlon shop provides technical gear and information to all levels of triathletes.
Vandaele, who is Fit Institute Slowtwitch (F.I.S.T.) certified, will be attempting the feat of completing a minimum of 50 consecutive bike fits. As a competitive triathlete, Vandaele knows that fit and position are the determining factors in cycling performance. The benefits of improving position are countless for the athlete. Go faster with less effort and energy output. Feel more comfortable and reduce saddle discomfort. Experience less muscular soreness and lower back distress. Run faster off a correctly positioned and fitted bike.
The Most Performed Continuous Bicycle Fits has yet to be recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records and SBR Multisports is about to change this. SBR's Bike Fit station will be in continuous operation from 10 am Friday, April 7th through Sunday, April 9th, totaling a minimum of 50 consecutive hours of bike fits. This is a unique opportunity for athletes to get the precise, proper fit they need to perform at their peak level this year and have their name recorded in world record history. Instead of charging the normal price of $250 per fit, SBR will be accepting donations of at least $100. All revenue generated from this event will be donated to Veterans of Foreign Wars.
The VFW http://www.vfwfoundation.org was created as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. The VFW focuses its resources on illnesses and disease that are service-connected and are unique to the military, such as health problems resulting from exposure to chemicals, stress or trauma during service in Vietnam, Bosnia, the Persian Gulf, Afghanistan or Iraq. The number of diseases that the Department of Veterans Affairs has recognized as associated with Agent Orange or Persian Gulf Syndrome continues to expand and includes diabetes, prostate cancer, chronic fatigue syndrome and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). These health and psychological issues can put vets in financial difficulties. The VFW also assists veterans and their families by providing resources to meet their urgent needs.
