Tell me about your triathlon history & how you got started in the sport...
Everything started with 10k running races, for me at the time it was a challenge and I only wanted to see if I could finish. I started to improve and got interested in different races. At the time I started mountain biking with my cousin who was already a triathlete. He invited me to watch him race and I was intrigued if I could finish one, the next race I was with him competing on my mountain bike for my first sprint distance triathlon. I burned myself in the bike and barely finished the race. I was dehydrated and so tired but I fell in love with the sport. Last year I did my first Ironman and it was awesome, I'll be doing this for a long time....

Looking ahead, what athletic goals have you set for yourself in 2008 ...
I competed in the Arizona Ironman in April and I'm looking forward to Cancun 70.3 and who knows maybe Clearwater.

What is your favorite thing about competing in triathlons?
My favorite part is sharing your experience with the other competitors and conquering a challenge that seems impossible to so many people.

What gets you motivated for a big race, or hard training session?
Knowing that after the race or workout I can eat whatever I want without feeling guilty about it.

What's your favorite meal to eat before and after a big race?
Pizza!!!!!

What is the best piece of advice you have for other triathletes?
Do your own race, if you go too fast on the bike you won´t be able to run properly. Practice your nutrition during training.

What other hobbies do you enjoy?
I haven't played soccer in a long time but I love that sport.
